1876: First Reference of Elevator Noise Disturbance Complaint

Research to find the first elevator installation in Capitol Hill uncovered the first reference of elevator noise disturbance. The noise disturbance led to what is assuredly the earliest referenced elevator modernizations, replacing the screw drive with a hydraulic system.
